Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of pork ribs (approx. 1.5kg)
  • 1 cup of BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp of smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 3 hours

Servings: 4-6 

How To Cook BBQ Pork Ribs

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 150°C. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.

Step 2

Rub the seasoning mix all over the pork ribs, making sure to cover both sides of the ribs.

Step 3

Drizzle the olive oil over the pork ribs and rub it in.

Step 4

Wrap the pork ribs in aluminium foil and place them on a baking tray.

Step 5

Bake the ribs in the oven for 2.5 hours.

Step 6

Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully open the foil packet. Brush the BBQ sauce all over the ribs.

Step 7

Turn the oven up to 220°C and place the ribs back in the oven for another 20-30 minutes, until the sauce has caramelised and the meat is tender.

Step 8

Once the ribs are done, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before cutting them into individual portions.
